Profile  of Dhanashri Deshpande

Dhanashri hails from a family of musicians. Dhanashri, an exuberant, young and versatile singer, was born in a musically rich family. She is the second youngest child of Pandit Gangadhar Dev and Manjusha. Dhanashri got her initial musical guidance from her father Pt. Gangadhar Dev, a popular Harmonium player and Singer. Her elder sister Rajashri, a renowned Hindustani Classical Vocalist is also her Guru and her best friend and guide. Dhanashri learnt music from her Guru Yashwant Deshpande in early age of training and later on she took a serious training in classical with Pt Dhananjay Joshi. She also took lessons from Pt. Vishwanath Oak and Pt. Nanasaheb Deshpande for light music. 

Dhanashri studied Master in Arts -Music (postgraduate degree in music) from SRTM University Nanded. She is also scholar in Music Alankar Exam. (Akheel Bhartiya Gandharv Mandal) She has developed into an artist with a large fan base across India and abroad with a very short span. She also did Master in Philosophy in Music from Mumbai University.

Dhanashri came into limelight at a young age of 28, when she won the Award of Gaurav Maharashtracha, This was the most recognized and respected musical competition on Etv Channel India.

She was praised wholeheartedly by the panel of judges comprising of legends of Indian Music for her versatility and melodious soulful voice.

Dhanashri is just not only a singer but also is a very good music teacher. Yes ! She has developed a unique style of teaching which simplifies the learning process for understanding the complexity of the music.

Currently nowadays, she has many amateurs to professional music students from all over India and abroad too.

Awards and Achievements

• “Gaurav Maharashtracha” An Award from Etv Marathi Channel in a reality shows in the year 2013 for being the winner and the most versatile singer in the competition.
•  Etv Channel adjudged Dhanashri as ‘Outstanding Vocalist’ during its reality show in 2012-2013 and awarded Title Gaurav Maharashtracha. She was also gifted a Brand New Mahindra Quanto Four Wheeler Model SUV C8.
• 1^st Prize in “Swarvaidarbhi” Vidarbha level Cine Geet Competition, organized by Data Meghe Sawangi Medical Science Deemed University Wardha at Sept 2010
• Dhanashri is one of the eighteenth students selected by Indian Music Academy through audition from all over India. Dhanashri has got the opportunity to perform for Idea Jalsa under National Music Talent Hunt Programme in Oct 2009 on DD National.
• Participation in reality show on Etv Gaurav Maharashtracha in 2009 and ranked TOP 5.
• 1^st Prize in Vidarbha Level Abhang Competition organized by Purnawadi Pariwar held at Amravati in Sept 2009.
• 1^st Prize in Pashchim Vidarbha Idol organized by Buldana Urban Co-op society held on sept 2009.
• 1^st Prize Vidarbha Level Singing Competiotion organized by Praveen Khodake Memorial Trust. The prize awarded at the hands of Avdhut Gupte and Vaishali Samant at Jan 2009.

Performances and Stage Shows

Dhanashri is feeling happy to share her musical performances with you. Dhanashri has performed more than 200 live shows in the past two years 2017-19 all over India and Abroad.

Dhanashri has also performed numerous live shows sharing stage with legendary singers, music composers like Suresh Wadkar, Sudesh Bhosale, Ushatai Mangeshkar, Shreedhar Phadake, Manohar Udas, Arun Date, Swapnil Bandodkar and such others.

Dhanashri felt most lucky to share stage along with Padmashree Dr. Prakash Amte and Dr. Mrs Mandakinitai Amte, a well-known social worker of India. The Charity show was organized by Aadhar for You organization based in Netherlands. Dhanashri and famous singer Nachiket Desai performed there for charity purpose. Some ample amount has been given to Amte family for development of the school at tribal area Hemalkasa, Gadchiroli.

• Played a role in well known drama “ Sangeet Swarsamradni” and performed at Delhi, Kolhapur, Pune, Sangali, Nanded etc.
